The brief
Willow Place and Corby Town Shopping wanted a reason for families to choose Corby town centre at Christmas.
What we built
A 25 × 12 m covered real-ice rink in the Anne Street car park, taking up to 100 skaters per 45-minute session.
The result
Demand extended the season by six weeks. The Guardian named it one of the top ten Christmas ice rinks in Europe, alongside Berlin and Budapest. The rink employed 15 local people and lifted trade for the businesses around it.
